Our Programme

Our preschool programme has a Montessori-based approach to help children learn a wide range of skills

The team of daycare teachers at Fairfield Educare run a wide-ranging natural immersion programme designed to be a fun learning experience for your child - helping to strengthen their independence through a sense of belonging.

This holistic approach to learning allows our tamariki to engage in their individual interests while feeling safe and secure in our nurturing environment. The Montessori mahi cycle runs in the mornings from 11 am – 11.45 am.  In-between these times children are free to explore natural learning moments. There is a unique place for every child and plenty of opportunities to play at our Horowhenua centre.

Conveniently located in Levin, our preschool and play centre welcomes families from throughout Horowhenua including Shannon, Foxton and Ohau.

Our Early Learning Philosophy

We ensure that tamariki have a sense of belonging, independence and cultural identity so they can thrive in their learning environment. Our approach promotes child-led learning through opportunities that include experiences, conversations, relationships and responses. We value and uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Imaginations can run wild with our large outdoor space

Your child will never be bored with our expansive outdoor area, designed to promote gross motor development and encourage physical play. Tamariki of all ages can enjoy sensory exploration through messy play/water and sand play. For the avid adventurer, we have swings, slides, climbing equipment, a treehouse and hidden warehouses set in the natural gardens. In the afternoon, preschoolers will have fun at our skill-building programme where they can delve into areas of interest like woodwork, the arts, drama, music/movement, cultural history, botany, language & maths - just to name a few!Learning opportunities are well prepared from kaiako and set out to support the ongoing development of our tamariki. We love watching organic learning happen in our natural outdoor space.
