About Farmyard Preschool

Farmyard Preschool is open 7:30am to 6:00pm and offer three rooms based on the different ages and stages for your tamariki. Within a farm setting, we provide empowering education and respectful care for all children in collaboration with whānau.

We provide a safe, nurturing environment where tamariki independence is fostered. Tamariki will be supported to learn at their own pace so that they become confident and competent in their ability to learn.

We believe in the importance of allowing tamariki to explore their world developing a sense of excitement and understanding of where and how they fit.

We are committed to Te tiriti o Waitangi and understand the importance of our role as Kaiako to incorporate bi-cultural practice using Te reo and Tikanga Maori throughout the centre.

Animals are an integral part of our centre. Through child/animal interactions we believe children will have the opportunity to develop empathy and responsibility to help support social development with peers. Children will also develop an understanding of sensitivity, sustainability, and ways in which they can care for the world around them.

We believe in the importance of building strong reciprocal relationships with tamariki, whanau, iwi, and hapu to support their learning. We encourage and welcome their contributions and are committed to supporting whanau aspirations for their tamariki.

As teachers we believe early childhood education is paramount for laying a strong foundation to support a journey of lifelong learning.

As professionals it is important for us to continue our learning journey, so we can deliver high quality theory-based experiences for all akonga.
