Our Little Farm Programme
At Little Farm Preschool and Nursery our philosophy is designed around supporting tamariki of all ages to being guardians of our environment through learning to care for our natural world.
Our dedicated nursery and two year old room is designed around supporting our younger tamariki to thrive in an environment which is specifically purposed to support their age and stage. Within these classrooms we have sleep rooms to cater for the sleeping needs for your tamariki, our nursery room will ask for tamariki home routines and follow these as close as possible. Within our two year old classroom we provide options of differing sleep times to suit the needs of your toddler while ensuring they can stay active within the learning environment. Both classrooms have access to a range of animals such as goats, guinea pigs and bunnies where tamariki learn to care and respect their beings by feeding and interacting with them on a daily basis.
We offer hours to support your whanau with our opening times 7:00am to 6:00pm. We have a centre van which has plunket certified car seats to support visiting areas in our wider community. We host a variety of animals that tamariki have daily interactions with such as goats, horses, sheep, guinea pigs, bunnies, birds and chickens. Come visit us any time to see what all the fuss is about!
Our rooms three and four are catered to support our older tamariki to gain independence and learn self care. We believe tamariki need to be active within their learning journey and contribute towards what they want to learn. We believe in supporting tamariki to be active members of their community within the preschool tamariki help to feed and care for our animals and have opportunities to partake in horse riding and grooming as well as growing and preparing kai for the animals. We also like to explore our wider community, and with our centre van tamariki have weekly trips in term times to the local Kapiti Gymnastics Club, visit local areas such Te Atiawa park and the local library.
