About Our Centre

Little Waves is in the heart of Paraparaumu Beach, and was purposely built in 2015 as a childcare service. This is the newest edition to Gaylene’s childcare services after closing the historic wise owl in Raumati South and relocating and branding this to Paraparaumu Beach’s Little Waves. Gaylene found a need for quality early learning centres in the Paraparaumu Beach area and saw this as a perfect opportunity to bring the Wise Owl team and whanau to a new exciting environment. At Little Waves There is a big focus in incorporating the local community into their curriculum, having local excursions and welcoming whanau and other guests to come share with tamariki. We have a wonderful environment for tamariki to physically challenge themselves and a lovely homely feel inside that truly makes this a home away from home.

Our Programme

Our environment is rich in literacy and numeracy enabling tamariki natural pathways into these areas to be supported. We are a centre that is focused on supporting tamariki develop as learners and have a deep appreciation of the learning that take place during the first five years of tamaiti life. We believe whanau are the first teachers and incorporate whanau values, culture and beliefs throughout the curriculum.
